header website Water for Lakes

In November 2013, the Embassy of Kingdom of the Netherlands in South Sudan (EKN) awarded the contract to provide the Technical Assistance Team (TAT) to manage the investment fund of the Water for Lakes programme to Euroconsult Mott MacDonald (MM).

The Water for Lakes programme (W4L) is a bilateral water programme funded by the Dutch Government for and on behalf of the Republic of South Sudan (RSS).

The vision of the programme is to balance the development and management of natural resources, with water as an entry point, in order to contribute to (national) security and to reduce dependency on food aid. The programme has five major interrelated components:

  1. Water for Livestock;
  2. Water for Agriculture;
  3. Water for Fish and Habitats;
  4. Water for People (Safe Water and Improved Sanitation); and
  5. Knowledge and capacity development for Integrated Water Resource Management (IWRM).

More information on the different components can be found under ‘programme’.
